Confidence is the Key | How to Boost Confidence

Confidence is the key based on which successful people in the world have reached new heights and made a great career.

One can always quote the example of Swami Vivekanand. His life was too difficult. Neither did he have food on his plate nor a roof over his head. However, he used to eat whatever he could find. In such hard times as well, he used to pledge to walk for 48 hours nonstop.

One day a disciple asked him, “ Swami Ji from where do you gather the courage to move on continuously without stopping in the scorching heat, heavy rains, extreme cold weather of India that too on difficult terrains among wild animals?”

He replied saying, “In this condition, my confidence plays a great role. I used to think that I’m not afraid, not even of death. Nature is my caretaker. Get settled or accustomed to all kinds of situations, get up and do not stop before reaching your goals. In this manner, I gather all my energy and start on my way. This is the reason I’m alive today and standing strong in front of you.”

It is through the power of confidence that great leaders like Swami Vivekanand have taken the country and the society to new heights. In your career or profession too, it is not possible to achieve success without confidence. Undoubtedly, through determination, one can develop confidence. Patience is a key element of confidence. The development of confidence is the success mantra. A person who has developed confidence can only be successful.

Tips to build self-confidence

Believe in yourself: The utmost source of self-confidence is you yourself. Therefore, believing in oneself is of great significance when it comes to boosting self-confidence. Having faith in one’s thought process and deeds helps in building confidence. In the absence of self-believe, an individual often becomes doubtful of his/her ideas and actions thereby getting caught in a vicious thought cycle and fails to achieve the desired results.

Self-care: Self-care is central to confidence-building as one’s self-esteem lies in how one perceives oneself and is perceived by others/society around.  Caring for oneself including one’s physical, mental and emotional well-being matters to a great extent. For the same, one should engage in activities like exercising/gymming, meditation, reading motivational articles, watching online videos, reading success stories, etc.

Be fearless: Having fear leads to the creation of self-doubt thereby preventing an individual from achieving the desired results. Going ahead with a fearless attitude helps in enhance self-belief thereby boosting self-confidence.

Raise your voice / stand up for yourself: Whenever you get caught in dilemmatic situations where you feel what is happening isn’t right then you must stand up for yourself or what you feel is right. Raise your voice when you witness any injustice happening around you. Go against the odds, but don’t be afraid of supporting the right thing.

Take risks: If you read the success stories of all great people you would realize it is not possible to achieve great things in life without developing a risk-taking behavior. Inventions and discoveries are a result of this attitude. Because someone thought that this could be possible despite the fear of failure, so many great things have been achieved. Try to imbibe this quality in your behavior. Don’t be afraid to experiment.
