CAREERDISHA GUIDE

Make a counselling conversation useful

Use a small amount of evidence well, and keep the questions open.

Understand the starting point

Before a conversation, write down the decision you need to make. “Which two course routes should I investigate?” is more workable than “What should I do with my life?” Bring your current stage, interests, constraints and any official programme information you have collected.

Look more closely

Include examples of work you enjoyed and questions you could not resolve. Ask the counsellor to explain their approach, qualifications, fees and what a session includes. If a standardised assessment is proposed, ask what it measures, how results are interpreted and what its limitations are.

Choose a next step

Leave with a short action list rather than expecting a permanent career label. Verify admission and fee details with the institution. CareerDisha stores a preferred-session request as a local draft; you must contact a provider separately to confirm a real appointment.
